10 Skills You Can Learn In A Month Online

What can you learn in a month? Practically anything you want! With the internet filled with online courses, virtual classrooms, webinars, and lectures, it’s like having your own digital university at your fingertips, at a fraction of the cost of studying offline.

As vaccines triumph viruses, sharpening your skillset is going to come in handy, sooner than you think.

If the thought of studying puts you off, chill because there are many non-traditional learning tools at your disposal: YouTube videos, Pinterest tutorials, TikTok, and even Netflix documentaries carry many learning opportunities if you look beyond the clutter.

When the world is standing still and your couch is looking like it can take a break, you know it’s time to do something that involves a bit more than binge-watching series.

For World Youth Skills Day, we’ve listed 10 skills you can learn in a month online, including some digital musts and some useful life skills.

1. Excel your Excel

It’s not everybody’s cup of tea but learning how to use Excel properly (and not just for making lists) is an easy ticket to acing any organisational or personal work. Browse through the many videos, tutorials, and short courses online, and you’d soon be excelling between the spreadsheets.

2. Wiz through meetings 

Meetings aren’t going anywhere; whether we like it or not, we have to host them, go through them, survive them and make them work for us. Get to know how to make the most of meetings, improve productivity and summarise agreements with Meeting Skills.

3. Boost your Health & Safety know-how

4. Don’t be a podcast outcast

5. Experiment with self-editing

Be it photos, videos or even an infographic, learning how to edit and publish content on your own is a handy skill today. It’s all about knowing your way around software with a pinch of creativity. Plus, you’d be saving a lot of time and money. 

6. Be a cyberlearning prodigy

7. Get over the reading bumps 

Speed reading might look jaw-droppingly inspiring, but it doesn’t need too much effort once you get the basics right!

8. Be a better timekeeper
