How do you learn if your world is full of darkness and silence?

Join us for a very important RYTHM Connect episode hosted LIVE on Facebook by Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran this September. We have an enlightening conversation with ANOPA Project, our NGO partner in Ghana about empowering differently abled children with education through sports.

What Is RYTHM Connect?

RYTHM Connect is a series of informative conversations hosted by RYTHM Foundation Chairperson Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran with industry experts, partners and social activists. Often the topics they tackle are tough but crucial conversations to have about how to build a better world and make a difference in the little things we do. You can find videos of thought-provoking conversations on the RYTHM Foundation Official YouTube Channel and discover eye-opening insights into everything from education and building an inclusive world, to the role of women in shaping society, achieving gender equality and so much more.

RYTHM Connect With ANOPA Project, Ghana

Children with visual and hearing impairments globally suffer disproportionately in the education system where, according to UNICEF, around half of 240 million children with disabilities have never attended school. Learning is a sensory process where seeing and hearing allows one to acquire knowledge more easily.

To children with disabilities, this is often challenging in traditional school settings, as they are 42% less likely to have the foundational reading and numeracy skills to help them understand more advanced lessons. That’s where ANOPA Project comes in.

Based in Ghana, ANOPA is an NGO that is steadily increasing school retention rates among children with disabilities by using sports as a tool for learning and development. In addition to helping children with disabilities learn important social skills and soft skills, ANOPA also carries out disability and inclusion awareness workshops to change social perceptions of people with disabilities. .

This September, join host, Datin Sri Umayal Eswaran as she tackles the very important topic of “Empowering Differently Abled Children Through Sports”.
